Beautiful Dwelling is part of a series called Inspirational Christian Poetry and is from Psalm 133 describing Heaven, which our Lord has prepared for us and the unity of the Christians meeting at the Covenantal feast, worshiping the great Jehovah.
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, Life forever.
Psalm 133
How beautiful the dwelling
At the covenantal feast
When brothers end their warrèd ways
Assembling in peace
How beautiful the dwelling
And how glorious the place
Where saints abide together
In the covenant of grace
The gathered congregation
Like the oil on Aaron’s head
The precious ransomed company
For which our Sovereign bled
Kneel down before the altar
Pouring undefiled praise
To worship great Jehovah
With their undivided lays
What holy conversation
Gospel union sweetly brings
Like Hermon’s morning favor
Zion’s ever flowing springs
The Lord’s anointed blessing
His most merciful command
Where brother loveth brother
God’s salvation firmly stands
