Spiritual Peace. Peace comes from God; there is no other road to true peace. That is an interesting thought as we so often here the term, World Peace. Even world peace is not possible apart from God.
22 And the LORD spoke to Moses,
saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you
shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24 “The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’
27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
Numbers 6:22-27, NKJV
In the next several devotions we will consider the topic of peace in Christ. Perhaps you are familiar with verses 24 - 26. It was important to God to have Moses bless the children of Israel in this way. Today, this blessing from God continues to apply to all true believers.
When
I ponder verses 24 through 26, I am overcome by God's protective care
upon me. I understand that this is the only way anyone can truly have
peace. Peace comes from God; there is no other road to true peace.
That is an interesting thought as we so often here the term, World Peace.
Even world peace is not possible apart from God. Because of man's sin,
nations will continue to war against nations until Christ returns; only
in Heaven and on the New Earth will there truly be world peace.
Look
at verse 27. Do you realize, that as a child of God, God's name is
stamped upon you? Everything you do and say represents Christ! That is a
pretty scary thought. Before you despair too much, however, look again
at verses 24 - 26:
24 “The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’
Let us, then, as children of God look to Christ who grants us all good things for His honor and glory. Christ has provided us with this rich salvation through His death, burial, and resurrection. Then, He send His Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in the way to that we may live our lives pleasing to God, the Father. May God truly grant you peace this day and every day as a child of God.
