These Psalms Devotions, the first of five parts, were written to encourage Christians to walk faithfully with God, and to understand their true state in view of today’s culture.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1, NKJV
These devotions originally appeared in my Daily Bible Devotions which is a free blog written for Christians to encourage a time of Bible reading, meditation, and prayer each day. It is so easy to neglect this great privilege, for a privilege it is when we consider the awesomeness of spending time personally to fellowship and talk with God each day. He’s never too busy to spend that time with us—as a matter of fact God loves His children so much He longs to have us meet with Him every day. In truth, the busier we, the more hectic our lives are, and the more difficulties we face each day, the more important it is to take that time, for we need God so much. In fact, we cannot live without Him.
Think of Daniel in Daniel 6. We are very familiar with the story of Daniel in the lion’s den, but have you ever thought much about verses 4 and 5? The governors and satraps who hated Daniel could not find any way to charge him with a fault unless it was related to the law of God. What a remarkable testimony. Why do you suppose that was true? Look at the last half of verse 10. Daniel knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, AS WAS HIS CUSTOM SINCE EARLY DAYS.
I hope you enjoy reading these Daily Bible Devotions from the Psalms as much as I enjoyed writing them.
God Bless You, LC
