Doxology of Angels, Revelation 7. The Apostle John, still in the throne room of God, continues his revelation of the things to come given to him by the spirit.
"Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"
Revelation 7:12, NIV
The Apostle John, still in the throne room of God, continues his revelation of the things to come given to him by the spirit.
9
After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no
one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing
before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white
robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried
out in a loud voice:
"Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb."
11
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders
and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the
throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
"Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"
Revelation 7:9-12, NIV
Those
standing in white robes, Christians from all nations, were so great in
number, they could not even be counted! What were they saying?
"Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb."
We,
as Christians, may be the minority now, but when Christ brings His last
child into the fold, we will be so great in number that we cannot even
be counted! What a time of thanksgiving and praise; with joy in our
hearts we will proclaim, "Salvation belongs to our God!" To that, the angels respond, "Amen!"
I remember a verse in a song I used to sing,
But when I tell salvation's story
They will fold their wings.
For angels never felt the joy
That our salvation brings.
Truly, we cannot comprehend the greatness of that day when time shall be no more and we will live forever with our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. How do we spend the time God has given to us while we are on this earth. Are we so immersed in the things of this world that we hardly give a thought to God and the things He has done for us?
Worship of God is not to be reserved for those times when we gather with fellow believers and praise and honor God. We should worship God continually in everything we do. While doing housework or driving from place to place, what an opportune time to meditate upon God and His great grace in our lives. Let us learn to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness every single day God grants to us on this earth. Let us remember that this world is not our home; our true home is yet to come.
May the joy of Christ resound in your hearts and lives this day as you remember this doxology of angels from Revelation 7.
"Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"
