Doxology of Unity. In Revelation 5, we continue the scenario which began in Revelation 4, still in the throne room of God. John has been brought in the spirit to the very throne of God and is describing the things he saw.
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
Revelation 5:13b, NIV
In Revelation 5, we continue the scenario which began in Revelation 4, still in the throne room of God. John has been brought in the spirit to the very throne of God and is describing the things he saw.
11 Then
I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon
thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the
throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they
sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!"
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!" 14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
Revelation 5:11-14, NIV
Can you just see those ten thousand times ten thousand angels circling the throne and proclaiming, "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain."? Then the most amazing thing happens. Every creature in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them,
sang the Doxology of Unity to the Lamb of God. Since before the fall of
Adam, such a thing has not happened. Not just man and angels, but ALL
creatures everywhere, even in the sea, sing in unity, the Doxology of
Unity.
World
Peace! We speak of it, we desire it, we even fight wars to bring it to
pass, but to no avail. As long as sin reigns on earth, there will be no
peace. But, peace is coming! When the new heavens and the new earth are established, all creatures will cry out in unity,
We cannot even begin to imagine the joy of such a moment. What an amazing God we serve. The things that await the dear child of God in heaven are more than our hearts can conceive. Let us with patience endure the trials of this life knowing that, truly, a better day is coming. And, it is not just a day--it is an eternity. How the things of this life will pale when we stand--yes, and bow--before the Lord Jesus Christ.
Go, then, today with a spring in your step and joy in your heart. We serve a risen Savior who is alive and seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us. He is coming again and all of the wrongs will be made right.
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
Amen - to God, alone, be the glory!
