Ephesians 6:24
Grace and Peace to You

Ephesians 6:24. Paul gives a final benediction to the believers at Ephesus. What a wonderful example of the way we should greet our fellow believers. Look at the elements of his benediction.

24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Ephesians 6:24, NKJV

Ephesians 6:24
Grace and Peace to You

21 But that you also may know my affairs and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you; 22 whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our affairs, and that he may comfort your hearts.

23 Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:21-23

Paul ends the book of Ephesians with final greetings with an introduction to Tychicus, whom he is sending to the Ephesians in his place. Then, as in all of his letters to the churches, Paul gives a final benediction to the believers at Ephesus. What a wonderful example of the way we should greet our fellow believers. Look at the elements of his benediction.

Peace to the brethren. What a good reminder that the only true peace we will have on this earth is the peace which comes from the Holy Spirit. No matter what our circumstances may be, God will grant us peace as He travels the difficulties of our lives right beside us. And, we know the rest of the story. We know that this world is just a prelude to the heavenly kingdom to come.

Love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot truly love apart from Christ. It is only as we understand the great love that God demonstrated to us through the death of His only Son on our behalf, that we can begin to understand how to love one another. It is only a love with faith.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Truly, again, grace is only granted to those who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Loving Christ is not just a mere acknowledgement that He is God. Rather, it is a total submitting of our lives and our wills to Him. He is our Lord as well as our Savior. To those who, in sincerity, love Him, He grants grace.

What is that grace? We understand that, through Christ, we are no longer condemned before God (Romans 8:1). For, while we were still without strength (dead in our sins and trespasses), Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) That is the great grace that He extends to us, His children.

So, like Paul, I say to you who are true believers:

Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen!
